Rush by MDTartist83 Rush by MDTartist83
I've been wanting to revisit this character for quite a long time now as I haven't drawn him in ages. But for those of you who don't know, this is Megaman's robotic dog Rush. Although this is not how he actually appears in the games or any of the cartoons and comics. But yeah, I did some experimenting with him a while back. And well this is basically my idea of what Rush would look like as an anthro. Rush made his first appearance in 1990 with the release of the third game in the classic series; Megaman 3. Needless to say, he debuted in the exact same year and in the exact same game along with Megaman's brother Protoman. And he often appears clad in red armor, and wears a helmet that's virtually identical to Megaman's helmet, except only its red instead of blue. As Megaman's sidekick, Rush is a very loyal and obedient canine who is always there to aid his master no matter the circumstances. In his first appearance, the player has immediate access to him. And his functions regularly consist of transforming into a variety of vehicles for Megaman to ride on. His most common form aside from his regular canine form is a jet board. But he can also transform into a submarine. But these forms can only be obtained after defeating specific bosses. In later games, Rush could change into a motorcycle as well as a sub-marine and a jet board, and he had other functions as well. In Megaman 6 and 7, Rush could fuse with Megaman, giving his master the ability to fly or hover in the air temporarily, and to shoot out his fist (obviously a Mazinger Z reference), which is more powerful than the Mega Buster. In Megaman 7, one of Rush's other functions include sniffing out the area and digging out hidden items. But sometimes he'll dig up useless and unimportant items. Ever since his debut in Megaman 3, Rush has since become an important and familiar character who would appear in every other Megaman game since. Though its worth pointing out that in Megaman 3, Rush's jet form is controllable, so when the player rides on him, he has total control over which direction Rush hovers to. But in every other game after that, Rush would automatically go directly forward as soon as the player hops on him, which I always thought was annoying, and it took some getting used to. Rush also appeared in the Ruby Spears Megaman cartoon that aired back in the 90s, where he was voiced by Ian James Corlette. Oddly enough, Rush sounded a lot like Scooby Doo in the cartoon. He usually didn't speak, but just made random canine sounds along with spamming certain words like "yeah!" and "Mega!" Rush could "sort of" talk. But he only parrots the dialogue from other characters. For example, if Megaman or someone else said "There won't be any uninvited guests." Rush would echo "Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! No uninvited guests!" Or when Megaman said "Let's get us the Brain Bot!" Rush would say "Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Brain Bot!" He also appeared in the manga, the OVAs, and the comics by Archie. Oddly enough, Rush could speak clear English in the OVAs, unlike his Ruby Spears counterpart. But in the comics, he doesn't talk at all. He just barks and whimpers. Which of course makes perfect sense since he's supposed to be a dog. But anyway, ever since his debut way back in 1990, I always had a soft spot for Rush. Seriously, he may not be as badass as Treble (Bass' dog) or Flender (Casshern's dog), but Rush's loyalty and willingness to take a shot for Megaman have always been some of his strong points. There are times when he proves to be kind of useless. But most of the times, Rush has always been a rather helpful asset to the Blue Bomber. Plus, I was always adored by his rather cute appearance. Seriously, this dog's freaking awesome!

Rush belongs to Capcom.

I'd never thought that I'd see Rush in his anthro form.

Aw, he's adorable! I can imagine him being perfectly detailed for an Anthro dog - and being 3 1/2 - 4 feet tall...

I agree; he's pretty cute. Yeah, I can imagine he'd be shorter than Megaman in height.

He was real handy in Megaman 6 where he and Rush could fuse together. Rush will always be my favorite character from Megaman

good drawing of Rush, the cute and loyal dog of Megaman, hehe, altough i see that he doesn't accustom to walk in two feets to see that he tends to walk with his four feets, well, in despite of these,i'm see that you adapted very well the character to your drawing tyle, one day of these, you should draw together to Treble,Flender and Rush,i'm imagine that they three would be very well in your style,hehe,n_n

Yeah, this is an anthro version of Rush I invented a while back.

You're right. I should draw Treble and Flender.
