Rodimus Prime Meme

Description

This is a little meme that I whipped up just for the sake of venting a frustration I have from more recent years. This meme is of Rodimus Prime, one of the most underrated characters in the Transformers universe. If you were born in the 80s, or prior to the 80s, then you might remember seeing Rodimus duirng his debut in the 1986 Transformers film. In his debut, he was voiced by Judd Nelson, who most people remember for his role as John Bender in "The Breakfast Club". I've noticed that in the last several years or so, Rodimus was continually shoved aside in favor of the more popular and well-known characters. In fact, he's had very few appearances from G1 onwards. His most recent appearances being in Transformers: Energon, and Transformers: Prime. Now, I'm going to be perfectly blunt here. I absolutely hated Transformers: Energon. While Transformers: Animated is a show that I have mixed feelings for. Yes, I'm aware that it was insanely popular when it first aired in 2007. But I don't know. I didn't like it very much. I couldn't really get into it. And I could go on and on explaining why. But I think I only need to go over this subject right here. And to be perfectly honest with you, I felt that Rodimus' appearance in TFA was nothing more than a major slap in the face.

My biggest gripe with this is that he was not treated or handled with care. In fact, he was only in the show for about a minute or so before being "killed off", and we never see him again. Yes, I'm aware that he didn't actually die and that he was on planet Cybertron de-rusting. Even though that was only ever mentioned in the form of text. But his appearance in the last episode was barely noticeable. And quite frankly I'm disappointed with how the makers of that show treated Rodimus. They could have done so much more with him. But no; they decided to introduce him, and then just throw him away in the trash can. In fact, they made it pretty obvious that they hate Rodimus. I mean how could they bring back a character who we haven't seen in so many years only to give him one short lived introduction and then just kill him off? For this reason, I prefer to remember his debut in the original Transformers continuity. Because at least there, Rodimus was given more importance and development. Sad to say, the original animated film from where he first debuted could very well be the only place where Rodimus will ever be treated with respect and recognition. What's also sad is that both versions of the character were voiced by Judd Nelson. But again, I prefer to remember his debut in the 1986 film. In TFA, his voice hasn't aged well. And like I said before, Rodimus' appearance in TFA was just disgraceful. It was such a betrayal, that I feel that his only purpose in that whole scene was to be bumped off. And if this is how they treat Rodimus after more than 20 years of absence, then that is just shameful. As far as I'm concerned, we may never see Rodimus Prime ever again. He's not coming back anytime soon. He's dead, and he will stay dead.

Rodimus Prime belongs to Hasbro.

He did not died. They planned to give him a much bigger role in cancelled s4. They just established him in the Tfa movie. Meanwhile G1 ver meant to be main focus.
