Road Rovers The Arcade Logo

Description

And here's yet another RR logo. Only this time the title at the bottom says "The Arcade" instead of "The Movie". I have to admit that for as much as I've always wanted to see a theatrical film based on the 1996 American cartoon show, I have also pictured a number of different video games of the show as well. And believe me, I've always believed that Road Rovers had SO much potential not just for having a new TV series, but for lots of other kinds of media as well ranging from comics, movies, and even video games.

Back in the late 1990s, I had this idea for a side-scrolling beat 'em up arcade game done in a similar fashion of such classic games like Double Dragon, the Simpsons, the 1989 TMNT arcade, and even the X-men arcade which came around somewhere early in the 90s. And I always thought that something like this would be lots of fun for the fans to play if such a thing was ever put into fruition.

Just to imagine playing as all your favorite characters from the TV show; Hunter, Colleen, Exile, Blitz, Shag, and even Muzzle as an unlockable character in Cano-Sapien form, fighting your way through hordes of enemies, obstacles, and boss battles while collecting health, weapons, and power-ups would be phenomenal. Heck, just thinking about this makes me imagine how the franchise's potential would really explode if such a game ever existed. I know; it's only a dream. But hey, everybody has the right to dream.

In fact, I've had this idea in my head for quite a while now. And even now just thinking about it makes me go: "Whoo! It'd be so exciting!" Some of the ideas I've had for a Road Rovers Arcade game in terms of gameplay is essentially being able to choose which character you wish to play as in the character select screen. And as you start the game, you walk through various different stages with several basic attacks at your command; "Punch, kick, jump, slide, and body slam" which can be executed by simply pressing buttons or by using a combination of joystick movements and button mashing. But best of all, each character would have their own special attack that the player can use at their command by pressing the "Special Attack Button" or by pressing the punch and kick buttons simultaneously.

Like in games such as Street Fighter III or Street Fighter Alpha, each character would have his own health bar and powerbar. The powerbar as most people who have played Street Fighter games in the last 10 to 15 years know by now, is essentially the meter that indicates how much power you develop depending on how much damage you've inflicted on the enemies. When the meter is up, you can perform a super-charged version of your special attack which can inflict heavy amounts of damage on the stronger enemies. And also, I could already imagine who the bosses in the game would be. Here's my list.

1. Fluffy the Spaniel
2. Spot the Dalmatian
3. Snuggles the Poodle
4. Felo Mutant Trio
5. Ninja Dogs
6. Tick
7. Flea
8. Mange
9. Groomer
10. General Parvo
