Ghost Rider - Doghead

Description

I'm not sure how many people out there are familiar with this guy. But believe it or not, this guy is one of Ghost Rider's enemies from the comic-book series by Marvel Comics. And as you guessed, Doghead is yet another obscure and underrated anthropomorphic canine character. In fact, right next to other anthro characters I know of like Lupe, Drago, Dilgear, Lypuston, Jon Talbain, Fluffy, and Spot, Doghead ranks among one of the most obscure canine characters imaginable, spawning few appearances, and small roles. His first appearance was in issue #89 of the Ghost Rider comics that came back in 1997.

Doghead is a demonic anthropomorphic canine who bares a strong resemblence to Doberlord from the Thundercats. But he is said to be a Pitbull. However, unlike most anthro characters I know of, Doghead doesn't wear any pants or underwear. But rather, he's almost completely naked, save for the strap-bandages on his arms and legs along with the dog-collar, shoulder guards, and belt, which all have spikes on them. His spiked collar, shoulder pads and belt are all connected and secured by chains. Based on what information I was able to get a hold of, Doghead's real name is Chio Chulindo, and was an illegal immigrant from the country of Ecuador. His only companion was a dog named Chupi. After meeting with a terrible accident and getting run over by a bus, Chio and his dog Chupi were merged into a single entity and reborn as Doghead under the influence of Blackheart. Gifted with superhuman strength and fighting prowess. He lashed out against the bus driver but, retaining a portion of his humanity, he stopped just short of murdering the bus driver before accompanying Blackheart to his realm. Doghead would later emerge as one Blackheart's minions and as a member of the "Spirits of Vengeance". When Doghead refers to himself, he doesn't say "I" or "Me". But rather, he says "Us" or "We" in a similar fashion to Gollum from Lord of the Rings.

Anyway, being the kind of person who likes to give the attention to the rather unheard of and neglected characters who most people just push aside and leave in the shadows, I just figured that I'd let people know about this particular character. I drew this illustration a while back. But I remembered it just recently, so I decided to scan it, clean it up, and post it on DA. Chances are you might have seen this guy in at least one or two of the Ghost Rider comics that came out in the 90s. But you probably don't remember that well. But I don't blame anybody really. Because how are people supposed to know when there's little to no info about them on the internet? Anyway, being the huge anthro fan that I am, I always wanted to see Doghead have appearances outside of the comics. And I think he'd be a nice candidate to show up in the live action Ghost Rider films that are currently being produced. But I know that's very unlikely. But hey, I can dream, can't I? Well, that's enough out of me. Enjoy.

Doghead belongs to Marvel Comics.
